Ways To Give

Why give to Nuestra Tierra?

Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project is working on a local, regional and national level. No matter the amount you give, you can trust that we’ll put your donation into action.

NATIONAL

Over the last two years, Nuestra Tierra has led the Outdoor F.U.T.U.R.E. (Fund for Underrepresented, Tribal, Urban, & Rural Equity) Initiative, which builds the public and political momentum for the creation of a NATIONAL outdoor opportunity and equity foundation. Inspired by NM's Outdoor Equity Fund, this fund will drive federal and private funds to to states, tribes, and national organizations to support programs that increase access, representation, and meaningful participation in the outdoors for youth and their families. Help us make the Outdoor F.U.T.U.R.E. a reality!

REGIONAL

Nuestra Tierra started the Monumental SHIFT Coalition as a way to create more national monuments in the U.S. that honor the leadership of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities. As a founding coalition member, we were instrumental in the Castner Range National Monument designation in El Paso, Texas and continue to invest in and push regional conservation campaigns across the finish line!

LOCAL

Locally, we are honored to continue protecting land at our home base—Las Cruces, New Mexico. Our community has worked together for over a decade now to make the La Mancha Wetlands Restoration Project what it is today. This small pocket of year-round water alongside the Rio Grande is a perfect example of community-led conservation in action. Help us continue making La Mancha a place where our community, human and all other living beings, can enjoy a healthy river habitat.

Cultivate Community

  • Nuestra Tierra was born out of a genuine community effort and operates out of the belief that successful environmental conservation is a result of a strong community.

David Soules Scholarship

  • All of our nation’s youth deserve the opportunities to gain meaningful outdoor experiences and environmental education. We know that this is not the current reality. Chronic and systemic inequities such as racism, capitalism, and colonialism have prevented youth of color, disability from access to nature more than others. The Nuestra Tierra Conservation project works to ensure that Frontera (border) communities have access to the outdoors—and that our history, values and people are reflected in public lands management. We do this through education, advocacy and empowerment.

OUTDOOR F.U.T.U.R.E. Initiative

  • The OUTDOOR F.U.T.U.R.E. Initiative is a piece of national legislation that will establish a national equity Fund for Underrepresented, Tribal, Urban, & Rural Equity. Alongside the leadership and support from Senator Heinrich of New Mexico (D-NM), Nuestra Tierra is championing this policy in order to ensure that all American youth have access and opportunities to experience the great outdoors.
